Google Gemini has grown into far more than a chatbot. It can research topics, analyse documents, work with images and video, build interactive tools, create music, connect with Google Workspace and even carry out multi-step tasks on your behalf.
In this practical, demonstration-based workshop, you’ll see what Google Gemini can actually do as of 12 July 2026. There will be fewer slides and more live testing, with real prompts, real outputs and an honest look at which features are genuinely useful.
What you’ll see demonstrated
Depending on feature availability and your Google account type, the session may include:
- Gemini 3.5 Flash for fast writing, analysis, planning, problem-solving and multi-step work
- Deep Research for investigating a topic and producing a detailed, source-based report
- Gemini Live for natural spoken conversations, brainstorming and working through ideas aloud
- Canvas for drafting documents, building simple apps, creating web pages and refining work in one space
- Image generation and editing using text prompts and uploaded images
- Gemini Omni for creating and editing video using combinations of text, photographs and existing footage
- Lyria for generating and customising music and audio tracks
- Gems for creating reusable, purpose-built versions of Gemini for particular tasks
- Notebooks and study tools for organising research, producing lessons and creating practice activities
- Connected Apps including Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar, YouTube and other Google services
- Gemini in Docs, Sheets and Slides for writing documents, building spreadsheets, analysing information and generating presentation content
- Personal Intelligence for more personalised answers based on connected Google services, where available
- Gemini Spark for automating workflows, scheduling ongoing tasks and completing more complex work across connected services
- File, image and document analysis, including comparing information across several uploaded sources
- Interactive diagrams, timelines, visual explanations and other richer response formats
You’ll also learn where the free version ends, which tools require a paid Google AI plan, and why some features may appear differently depending on your device, account, region or Workspace settings.
Who is this workshop for?
This session is suited to small business owners and anyone who has tried Gemini but suspects they are only scratching the surface.
No advanced technical knowledge is needed. Bring your laptop, your questions and a Google account so you can follow along and test the features yourself.
Please note: Google regularly changes Gemini’s features, limits and availability. Some demonstrations may require a Google AI subscription and may vary by region, age, device or account type.
