Why Leave Town Gift Card

The Why Leave Town gift card campaign was launched by the Chamber in 2019 in consultation with the local business community. The initiative provides a unique and convenient gifting solution while encouraging the community to support local businesses by shopping local. In 2025 we have added the option for a digital card to increase the options for both customers and business to engage with the program.

How it Works

The gift card is an EFTPOS-based or digital card that works like any other gift card or voucher-based system. The only difference is the money can only be spent within Stanthorpe and the Granite Belt, at any participating businesses. The Why Leave Town program offer two forms:

Physical Card: Simply visit a Load Up Store to collect a card and decide how much money to load onto it. You can then use the card to purchase goods and services at any participating business.
Digital Card: Visit https://www.whyleavetown.com/purchase-digital-cards/ to purchase and load.
